Ipswich Town boss George Burley has confirmed the club are in talks with former Norwich City shot-stopper Andy Marshall.
Marshall, rated as one of the best keepers outside of the Premiership, is seen as an ideal replacement for the Blues' England star Richard Wright, who seems destined for north London giants, Arsenal.
And there would be no fee involved as Marshall became a free agent when his contract ran out with the Canaries at the end of last season.
Burley confirmed yesterday (Monday): "We are in talks and hopefully we'll get something sorted soon."
Town are also being linked with a number of players, the latest one being Hartlepool's 22-year-old midfielder Tommy Miller.
Miller started his footballing career with the Blues as a trainee, but Burley said: "It is pure speculation, and I really don't want to comment on rumours."
