The girls of St Hilda's, Imperial Avenue, Westcliff, have proved themselves tops in track and field.

In the Independent Schools' Association's national finals they won three first places through Sam Collinson (1.27m high jump), Charlotte Lafferty (24.50m javelin) and Imogen Bexfield (1.15m high jump).

These added to the successes at the regional finals where all three above featured and were joined in action by the following: Emma Parker (hurdles), Sophia Evans (discus), Amie Hibbert, Louise Collinson, Claire Goater and Emma George (relay), Fiona Livingston (1,500m) Katie Parsons (shot) and Jo Fenttiman (high jump).

All are pictured except Katie Parsons and Jo Fenttiman, who were absent from school on the day our photographer called.
