Shoebury Park 127
Trinity 119-6
(Shoebury won by eight runs)
Shoebury Park retained their Active KO Cup in the Sirco Southend Evening Cricket League after a close-run final with Trinity.
On a perfect summer's night at Garon Park, Trinity were made to pay for twice dropping star Shoebury batsman Des Beckett early on as he went on to make 35.
Andy Hughes weighed in with 27, Nick Shah 20 and Darren Bartlett an unbeaten 20. Shoebury were all out off the last ball of their 15-over innings for a 127 total.
Roy Anderson took 3-27 in three overs, Steve Plummer 2-21 and Chris Hunt 3-37.
Trinity got off to a slow start, but were sent on their way by Russell Shepherd, who top-scored with 38.
The rest struggled to get the economic Shoebury bowling away and, at the close, were still eight runs short on 119-6. John Cook was unbeaten on 20.
Bowling honours went to Bartlett (4-38 off five overs) and Beckett (2-24 off five).
