An elephant at Colchester Zoo has become the first in Britain to become pregnant via artificial insemination.
Tanya has lived at Colchester Zoo since 1984, and after undergoing insemination treatment earlier this yer is now tree months pregnant, zoo bosses have revealed.
The father is another Colchester elephant, Tembo, who was rescued from Chipperfield Circus.
