The Ladies Captains Day at Chelmsford Golf Club saw 90 of its members out for the morning stableford and afternoon threesomes.

This year the Ladies Captain, Maureen Quinn chose as the theme for her prizes, Royal Worcester, and items produced by that company to celebrate their 250th anniversary.

The day turned out to be extremely pleasant and sunny with plenty of ball spotters in position from the first teeing off.

The Ladies' Captain's Prizes, to the Player of the Day, the Scratch Prize was won by Trish Wilson.

With all other scorers off net, the Captain's Prize went to Valerie Tolani for her 41 points.

So giving the young lad the same accolade, to the Player of the Day, the Scratch prize was won with a gross 66 by Lloyd Kennedy.

The two Ladies Silver I teams have been out playing their fifth League match of their six match series.

The Silver I (1) team went to Rochford, depleted of some of the regulars who were competing in the Welsh Open.

The players who moved up from Silver I (2) to fill the positions put in a commendable performance but eventually went down by three matches to four.

The Silver I (2) team hosted Stapleford Abbotts but having held a first nine lead saw it slip away to lose by four matches to three.

Silver I (1) Captain Maureen Quinn, team Trish Wilson, Alison Evans, Brenda Skudder, Ann Simpson, Shirley Beard, Rita Caton and Joyce Allison.

Silver I (2) Captain Linda Parrott, team Shirley Beard, Joyce Allison, Brenda Murray, Linda Dossett, Rita Caton, Lucy Clarke and Sue Vines.
