Police have appealed for help after a man suffered a punctured lung in a suspected stabbing at a Clacton nightclub.

The 20-year-old man from Clacton suffered two puncture wounds to his lower back at the Rumours Two nightclub in Rosemary Road, Clacton, at 2.40am on Sunday.

The wounding happened after an altercation occurred upstairs in the club by the back bar.

Police and ambulance staff were called to the scene and the man was taken to Colchester General Hospital.

His injuries were yesterday (Monday) said not to be life-threatening but he is expected to stay in hospital for at least a week.

Detectives have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident. He was released on police bail pending further inquiries.
