Children from a Black Notley nursery have been learning what it is like to work in a fish and chip shop.
Youngsters from Mannadale Nursery have been learning all there is to know about the ocean.
And as part of their studies they have been learning about what lives in the sea and how it extends into our everyday lives.
As a result of this they visited the Manor Plaice fish and chip shop, in Manor Street, Braintree, and found out what happens to fish when they arrive at the shop.
Nursery manager Glenda Worth said: "The children learned all about how fish and chips are made and had fun at the same time.
"We've been learning all about the oceans and have turned the nursery into a seaside scene. So it was great to visit a real life chip shop as an extension of what they have been learning."
