This Sunday features two special occasions for Braintree BMX Club, which is hosting round seven of the East Anglia BMX Summer Series.
The first round in April saw riders from all over East Anglia competing at the track opposite Towerlands but the club has for the first time offered to take on what is known as 'the region's regional".
This is open to one of the seven clubs in the area to provide an eighth round on behalf of the region and it is timely as it will coincide with the first-ever meeting that the club will be using their new electronic gate system.
A lot of hard work has gone into preparing the new gate with funds obtained from the Awards for All scheme and the British Cycling Federation Essex Division and the club will be hoping that it all runs smoothly on the day.
There have also been some further track changes and the 100 or so riders should expect a good day's racing if the weather stays fine.
Registration closes at 11am with racing commencing at around 12.45pm.
The club will be holding novice races if there are enough riders, so if anyone has the right equipment and would like to compete, then please turn up in time to register.
