Tommy Miller plans to help shoot Ipswich Town into the upper reaches of next season's Premiership -- and erase the tearful memory of being rejected by the club seven years ago.
The attacking midfielder -- signed from Hartlepool for an undisclosed fee, thought to be in the region of £1m -- was back at Portman Road on Monday to finalise a four-year contract.
And, after being paraded at a press conference, he signalled his intention to forge his way into George Burley's starting line-up.
Miller said: "It's not every day you get the chance to play in the Premiership.
"I remember being in tears when I was released seven years ago. I loved the place but felt as though I never wanted to see it again.
"I'm grateful to Hartlepool for giving me a chance to get back in the game but now is the time to progress."
Miller, also tracked by Crewe and Coventry, was Hartlepool's leading scorer last season with 21 goals and has made 137 League appearances since making his debut in 1997.
The 22-year-old first joined Ipswich as an associate schoolboy when he was 14.
