Police are hunting a gang of white men who threatened and screamed racist abuse at a man queueing in McDonald's.
The 38-year-old Asian man was waiting at the fast food restaurant, at Chelmsford Road, on the Mountnessing roundabout, when the incident happened in broad daylight.
Sgt Piers Quinnell, of Brentwood Police, said: "A group of six men entered and accused the man of pushing into the queue. They shouted racist abuse at him and then one of them spat at him."
The six men fled the restaurant in a white Transit minibus, with the index number W958 SJB.
It happened at 12.35pm last Wednesday (August 1).
