Sea Cadets from Colchester had the chance to be heard on radio when an outside broadcast was transmitted from their training headquarters.
BBC Essex presenters Steve Scruton and Ian Wyatt, with Renee Hockley-Byam, were at TS Colne Light moored at The Hythe, Colchester, to present a three-hour programme from 1pm yesterday (Tuesday).
Guests who were interviewed included Colchester MP Bob Russell, the Sea Cadets' president Mary Frank and Commander Ian Riley, who was instrumental in bringing the lightship to Colchester.
Cadets did some of their basic training skills while the live broadcast went ahead, including practising music and drill to provide background noise.
