Firebugs damaged steps and cushions at the Thurrock Harriers' track, Blackshots, Grays, in the early hours of yesterday (Tuesday) morning.
Firefighters from Grays went to the scene shortly after 2am to find the observation tower steps on the inside of the track at the finishing line on fire. The incident is being investigated.
