The plight of a young muscular dystrophy sufferer has so touched the hearts of restaurant staff that they are brushing aside their fears to take part in a bungee jump.
More than 50 members of two Beefeater restaurant staff will be raising money for a £13,500 top of the range wheelchair for the youngster.
Staff at the Watermill restaurant in East Mayne will take part in the jump on August 27 for eight-year-old Daniel Messenger who is unable to walk.
Daniel, from West Hanningfield near Rettendon, suffers from muscular dystrophy, an incurable muscle-wasting disease and is in need of a decent wheelchair.
