A strong Charlton side got the better of their Essex hosts at Park Lane, with Canvey Island losing out 4-2 in an entertaining game.
Charlton's strikers showed their class, with Clive Mendonca and Shaun Bartlett both bagging a brace last night (Wednesday), but not before the Gulls had given their Premiership opponents a scare.
The Ryman League side took the lead after just eight minutes through Neil Gregory. Paul Cobb scored the second goal for Canvey on 73 minutes. Find out more about Canvey Island FC
