A electrician who falsely claimed to be a member of two trade associations has been fined £400.
A resident complained about work by John Miles, of Woodside View, Benfleet, which prompted an investigation by trading standards officers.
Miles, who trades under the names Bright Sparks Electrical Installation Eng-ineers or BS Electrical Services, admitted at Grays Magistrates' Court two charges under the Trades Description Act of making false statements.
