Thieves snatched £200 from a till at the Ikea restaurant in Lakeside on Monday evening after one feigned injury to distract staff.
The two men asked an assistant for a sticking plaster for a hand injury, and as she turned to get one, she spotted one of the men take the money from the till. Both men fled when confronted.
The suspect with the injured hand is described as white, aged 25 to 30 years and about 5ft 11ins.
He had short, dark hair and was wearing a yellow baseball cap.
The other man was also white, aged about 30 years and wearing a grey baseball cap.
