Jobs could be lost at a Colchester insurance company.

Crowe Insurance, of North Station, has made the announcement after management buyout negotiations came to a halt.

Crowe's management put forward the bid after it's current owner Stockton Reinsurance decided to pull out.

The Bermuda-based company cited changes in insurance since the World Trade Centre attacks. It will now be concentrating on international speciality markets rather than UK motors.

The management buyout has stopped and the company is engaged in talks with a third company, which has expressed an interest.

The 350 staff at Crowe Insurance were informed yesterday (Monday) and told job losses could be possible, although this would probably not be until the new year.
