Soccer-mad Canvey youngster Carly Roache is gunning for the big time after joining the highly-rated Arsenal Ladies academy.

Castle View pupil Carly, 13, used to play for Billericay-based Perry Street before her talents earned her a place with one of the biggest ladies soccer set-ups in the country.

She now trains twice a week at Arsenal's Colney Heath proving ground and hopes to break in to the all-conquering first team.

Arsenal Ladies are the current national champions and last season completed the 'treble' by winning the Ladies' FA Cup, League Cup and National League honours.

Carly's mum, Michelle, said: "She's always been determined with big ambitions - her goal is to play for England Ladies."
