Braintree Leos Club showed its support for Breast Cancer Awareness Week with a charity event.
The group's members raised money for the Cancer Research campaign by using 2,400 bras to make a chain nearly two miles long on Saturday.
More than 25 people, including members of Lions' clubs from Ipswich, Clacton and Canvey Island, helped to make the chain up in a field next to The Swan pub in The Street, Rayne.
At just 220 metres short of two miles, the chain is unofficially the longest ever made.
Richard Leek, public relations officer for the club, said: "We've got to send it off to the Guinness Book of Records and wait for a decision.
"Hopefully we'll find out in the next two to three weeks."
