John McGreal and Alun Armstrong have emerged as injury doubts for Thursday's UEFA Cup second round first leg tie with Helsingborgs at Portman Road.

Both have aggravated back injuries they suffered last week but hope to be fit in time for the match, which is being screened live by the BBC.

One player who will certainly play no part is Titus Bramble, who may be sidelined until Christmas if he needs an operation to cure a troublesome Achilles.

The defender, forced to watch recent matches from the stands, returned to training last week but suffered a relapse. He will now see a specialist.

Meanwhile, Burley has called for patience ahead of his side's Swedish showdown.

He said: "Helsingborgs are a side which we expect to be very cautious, with just one man up front.

"I think there will be a need for great patience all round. I'm sure our crowd will appreciate that and my players will be well aware of the necessity for total concentration.

"Helsingborgs are a strong side and they have virtually the same line-up that beat Inter Milan last season in the Champions League."
