Southend United put four past Stevenage Borough as they progressed to the second round of the LDV Vans Trophy.
The Blues were three up in 26 minutes last night (Monday) as they asserted their superiority over their opponents with goals from Tesfaye Bramble, Mark Rawle and Carl Hutchings.
As the second half got underway Borough saw a brief glimmer of hope as Michel Sigere pulled a goal back for the home side.
But even following a difficult week which saw the club and manager David Webb part company, Southend were not about to let this one slip. Find out more about Southend United FC It was Daniel Webb, son of the former Southend boss, who fittingly rounded off the evening restoring the Blues three goal cushion on 85 minutes.
Webb senior may be gone but for Webb junior it was business as usual.
