A successful Tiptree dot com entrepreneur has received two awards in one day for his recruitment website.

Jobserve owner, Robbie Cowling, collected the awards at the National Entrepreneurs of the Year ceremony organised by Ernst and Young yesterday (Monday).

The Tiptree-based site won the business services category and best specialist job site in the National Online Recruitment Awards.

Jobserve was formed by Mr Cowling in 1994, and he has seen it grow to become a major dot com success story, with profits reported this year of £10m.

As well as its latest awards, the company has received many others, including a Queen's Award for Enterprise and wining the Central Region Entrepreneur of the year.

Mr Cowling said: "It is particularly good to be able to celebrate some positive news about business in the UK at what is a very tough time for people, not just in the recruitment industry, but in many other sectors too."
