Cub and Beaver Scouts from Monkwick washed and polished their way through a two-day fundraiser.
The youngsters from the 5th Colchester Scout group offered their services as car washers while volunteers repaired their hut, which has been repeatedly vandalised.
Committee member Paul Green said the money raised would go towards improving the building so it would be harder to damage.
And he praised the Cubs and Beavers' car washing efforts: "They did a lot of hard work and thoroughly enjoyed it.
"They polished a few cars and made a few people happy."
