The brother of a man allegedly beaten up by three doormen at a Southend nightclub told a court he was threatened with more of the same when he tried to protect him.
Russell Bellamy said that he approached bouncers at Baker's Bar, in Alexandra Street, after they had repeatedly punched and kicked his brother Robert until he lost consciousness.
Christopher Plummer, 30, of Sutton Road, Southend, Mark Green, 26, of Clinton Road, Canvey, and David Burch, 30, of Sutton Road, Southend, deny assaulting Robert Bellamy, 46, and causing him to fear violence last November.
Robert Bellamy had been refused entry, Southend Mag-istrates' Court has heard.
Russell Bellamy said: I told the doormen to let Bob go and one said 'Do you want more of the same?' and went to throw a punch at me but I put up my arm and it hit my forearm.
The trial continues.
