Westwood Karate Club saw its members win two national championship titles and one bronze in the English Karate Governing Body children's championships at Crystal Palace.
Gold medal winners were Craig Suckling (boys 13-15 years brown belt) and Kimberley Hughes (girls 10-12 years black belt).
Kimberley's achievement was especially notable as she had only passed her black belt grading six weeks before. Another star performer for the club was Danielle Cole, who won bronze in the 10-12 years brown belt category.
Westwood are currently holding beginners' classes in Canvey, Rayleigh, Southend, Hockley and Wickford. For more information, call Carol Parrish on 01702 559804
