Marsh UK is an operating unit of Marsh and McLennan Companies Inc. (MMC), which occupied seven floors of one of the World Trade Centre towers.
About 1,700 MMC employees worked in the tower, of whom 500 are missing feared dead.
No employees from the Witham office were working there at the time.
A spokesman said: "We at Marsh continue to focus our efforts, thoughts and prayers on our colleagues and their families affected by the tragedy at the World Trade Centre.
Meanwhile the first flight to North America since the disaster has taken off from Stansted.
The chartered Corsair Boeing 747 left at 11pm last night for Montreal.
The Essex airport is expecting all its flights to operate normally today with the exception of Continental Airlines service to New York.
