Hermann Hreidarsson has told Ipswich fans: "Don't worry, we'll get things sorted."

The Blues have only won once in the Premiership in nine attempts this season -a far cry from last season's blistering form that saw them win a place in Europe.

And the club missed a golden chance to secure their first away victory against ten-man Fulham at Craven Cottage.

But the Icelandic international believes the club are close to turning the corner and has stressed the campaign is still in early days.

He said: "I thought we played quite well against Fulham and even though we went 1-0 down early on we kept going.

"I'm slightly disappointed because when we equalised I noticed there was still plenty of time left. And seeing as they were down to ten men, we probably should have gone on and won.

"The sending-off changed the game for us and we played much better in the second half and used much more width. We had a good season last time and people are going to expect the same again.

"But they have to realise this time is tougher. Other teams know what we're about and they know we're a team to beat. But having said that, confidence is still high and I'm sure results will start picking up again soon."

Hreidarsson was also confident Town would be able to cope without injured Finidi George - but admitted the winger's two-month lay-off was a big blow.

He said: "Finidi is a very talented player and we will miss him. But we've got plenty of depth at Portman Road and there's some good players waiting to get their chance."
