Despite flooded homes, residents in Little Totham have been trying to carry on as usual.

But Lorna Key, of School Road, said villagers were still out in force.

Heybridge residents have been flooded for the third time this year.

Holloway Road - from The Anchor pub to Elms Farm roundabout - was blocked during the weekend after the heavy rainfall, and homeowners had to tackle water coming into their homes.

Parish council chairman, Beryl Claydon, said something needed to be done because water coming off the fields has nowhere to go once it reaches Holloway Road and Crescent Road.

A report from The Environment Agency - looking for the cause of and cure for the ongoing drainage problems in Heybridge - is expected within days.
