An assault charge against Southend United player Tes Bramble has been dropped.
The 21-year-old had been due to appear for a trial next month after an alleged incident at Ipswich nightclub, Liquid, on Feburary 4 this year.
On Wednesday, at South East Suffolk Magistrates' Court, the Crown Prosecution Service said it would no longer be pressing ahead with the case.
Reasons were not given.
Charges were dropped against Bramble's co-defendant in the case, Shane Wardley, some weeks ago. The 21-year-old is also a Southend United player.
