Premiership new-boys Bolton Wanderers are rumoured to be keeping tabs on teenage Southend United striker Daniel Webb.

The Trotters are believed to have sent a scout to Roots Hall to run the rule over the 18-year-old frontman, who has scored two goals in eight Third Division starts this term.

Bolton would not officially confirm their interest, but a source close to the Lancashire club said: "Bolton have been monitoring Daniel's performances.

"He is a good young player and a great prospect. But it is a big jump from the Third Division to the Premiership and Bolton will continue to track Daniel's development."
