Witham Town had no problems in disposing of Camberley Town 5-0 at Spa Road to end a run of two successive defeats in the third division.

They took the lead in the 43rd minute on Saturday when Kevin Inglis scored after a good bout of passing ended when his low shot found the back of the net.

A spell of four quick goals in the second half put Witham well in command. Neil Grice got the second when his deft shot had keeper Gray going the wrong way with Glen Driver adding a third.

Danny Stanley netted two minutes before captain Rob Bate rounded off the scoring.

Captain Rob Bate completed the scoring when he headed home a cross. from the right for the best goal of the game that must be one to watch in the replays on the television cameras that are in operation at the Spa Road ground.

Even after that there were more near misses and Gray made a series of good saves. And when it looked as though Camberley were going to get a consolation goal near the end, Dean Mahoney the Witham keeper saved a penalty taken by Evans.

After two recent defeats this was a good confidence booster for two more home games, when on Saturday Hertford Town are the visitors.

When Witham played Hertford away on August 27, Hertford won by six goals to two, so there's a score to settle there, and then next Tuesday, October 23 Edgware Town are the visitors.
