Two holiday helpers have been commended for their efforts after giving up the summer break.
Basildon youngsters Lisa Dodd and Victoria Smith, both 15, have been presented with the Princess Diana Memorial Award after lending a hand at a holiday club for children.
Lisa and Victoria, who are both pupils at Woodlands School in Takeley End, Basildon, were nominated for the accolade by staff at the school.
Deputy head Jayne Dear said "Their help was invaluable over the summer. It just goes to show their great contribution to the community."
