Southend United striker Tes Bramble is aiming to blast Blues back up the Third Division table - with a little bit of help from his flat mate Mark Rawle.

During recent weeks, Bramble has shown glimpses of the form which saw the 21-year-old score six goals in nine games at the end of last season.

And Bramble, who has two goals this term, said: "I'm feeling much better about my performances and I just want to keep on scoring as many goals as I can.

"I wasn't happy playing on the wing earlier in the season, but I've enjoyed being paired up front with Mark Rawle again during some of our recent games. Find out more about Southend United FC "We built up a strong understanding during the summer, but injuries hampered our starts to the season and the partnership got broken up.

"But we've scored four goals between us during the last four games and I'm sure we can improve as a pair and fire Blues into the promotion play-off picture."

And the young hitman admitted he was feeling more relaxed on the football pitch after an assault charge was recently dropped against him , following an incident at an Ipswich nightclub.

"I tried to put the court case to the back of my mind," said Bramble. "But now it's all over I'm definitely playing with more freedom and it's nice to be able to concentrate on just football again."

Blues' Avon Insurance Combination League Cup clash at Colchester United on Wednesday was rained off.
