You have proved that you can win at home - now let's go and do it away.

Colchester United manager Steve Whitton will be drumming that point into his players as they prepare for tomorrow's (Saturday's) vital Withdean Stadium clash with highflying Brighton and Hove Albion.

The second-placed Seagulls currently boast one of the best home records in the Second Division and have not lost a Saturday match at Withdean since January 2000.

The U's on the other hand have picked up only one away point from a lacklustre draw at Wrexham since hammering Chesterfield 6-3 on the the opening day of the season. Whitton said: "That's all the incentive my lads need to go to Brighton and win.

"They are certain to approach the game in a positive mood themselves, but they will have watched us and be well aware that they have a massive game on their hands.

"We've already proved we can beat anyone at home, what better place can we be going than Brighton win away and spoil their proud record.

"Everyone's already fired up about the trip."

Whitton is also well aware, however, that the U's fortunes could rest heavily on the shoulders of his in-form Brighton-born central defender Ross Johnson.

Johnson will be up against the Seagulls leading scorer Bobby Zamora, who has already knocked in ten goals to date.

Whitts added: "Zamora is sure to be a big handful for us, but tomorrow is a big day for Ross and I'm positive he'll rise to the challenge."

Classy central defender Scott Fitzgerald, who has missed the last seven games, is recalled to the squad and their could also be a late call up for fit again fullback Joe Dunne.
