Forrester Park Golf Club veterans enjoyed the warmth of the Indian summer for their October stableford, especially Ken Gibson who won the gold division with 40 points.

Ron Ketley with 37 points took second place beating Mike Angel by one point.

Dave Reynolds won the silver division with 38 points from Frank Weston (35 points) and Alan Troman (34 points).

The ladies played for the Bees Trophy where the proceeds are donated to Cancer Research.

In the close contest, Toni Aldous beat new captain, Muriel Loveridge on countback, both with 38 points. Another countback favoured Jane Ash who beat Angela Roast for third place with 34 points.

Kate Anstey also had a day to remember, recording her first hole in one on the 11th.

As some generous lady members had donated the prizes, a total of £285 was raised for the Cancer Research charity.

In spite of having a two shot handicap following the Bees competition, Muriel Loveridge, partnered by husband Colin, won the Benton Hall mixed open the following day with 43 points a betterball competition.

Martin Gunfield and junior partner, Anthony Prickkler with 36 points won the senior/junior foursomes for the Myers Trophy.

Patrick Smith and Nick Procter with 32 points beat John Stevens and Chris Lowndes 31 points for third place.

The men's Committee Invitation competition, for all competition winners during the year, was washed out by the heavy rain and will be re-arranged at a later date.
