Witham recorded their second win in three days by overcoming Edgware at Spa Road on Tuesday.

It was surprising how good the pitch was after the heavy rains that caused all the flooding in the area but it was in excellent shape for the game with the teams almost identical league records to date.

Both goalkeepers were in action early in the game with Witham's Dean Mahoney saving a low shot from the right and Simon Chang doing well to save from Jamie Window before Glen Driver was only just off target with a low shot.

After some good build ups and many corners Witham eventually took the lead when an excellent corner from Neil Grice found Window unmarked and he fired the ball past Chang.

Ricky Brown was making some good runs down the left wing for Edgware and from one, Mahoney saved his final shot well.

The visitors enjoyed some good spells after the break but found the home defence and Mahoney in good form.

Witham went further ahead in the 82nd minute when another corner by Grice it was headed downwards by tall Witham defender Andy Walton and Driver stopped at the far post to head the ball home.

Witham's Jamie Gold was sent off in the 85th minute for a second bookable offence for the only blemish on Witham's good night, with another good team performance and three points that take them up to ninth place in the league.
