Colchester United boss Steve Whitton expressed great pleasure with the manner in which the U's and Wycombe battled out a highly entertaining draw before the biggest Layer Road crowd of the season - 5,186 - on Tuesday night.
He said: "I thought we played some great football in the first half, but a draw was a fair result.
"Micky Stockwell and Kevin Rapley both took their goals extremely well, but Wycombe's two goals both came at very bad times for us.
"That said, it must have been a great game to watch. It was packed with goalmouth action at both ends with plenty of excitement and half chances. Tonight's representative match between the KeConnect League and the Colchester Sunday League for the Roy Rogers Bowl at Stanway Rovers' ground has been postponed.
