Billericay Town boss Gary Calder admits that he will feel sympathy for FA Cup opponents Tiverton Town if, as he hopes and expects, they leave New Lodge without any financial reward but for their share of the gate receipts tomorrow afternoon (Saturday).

The Dr Martens League Premier Division Devon side visit for a fourth and final qualifying round tie and Calder freely admits that, with such huge sums of cash now on offer for the winners even at the qualifying stages, he's not certain that it should all go to the triumphant club.

He said: "Tomorrow's winning teams will collect £20,000 with nothing for the losers. My own personal opinion is that perhaps the cash would be better utilised for the pyramid as a whole with something like a 75-25 per cent split.

"Perhaps I might feel differently at 4.45pm tomorrow if we've triumphed - but I don't think so. We've collected £17,500 already for our two FA Cup successes and obviously that's the type of money that every club at this level needs and wants. However, I'm not so sure that this policy of the winner takes all financially is necessarily right." Find out more about Billericay Town FC Calder also suggested that the cash on offer would mean little once the game gets underway. "In fact it doesn't affect our preparations at all," he added.

"If we were playing for nothing or a million pounds our build-up would be just the same.

"What the FA Cup is all about at this stage is being in that live TV draw for the first round proper on Saturday night and possibly coming out to face Nationwide League opposition.

Calder admits to having tremendous respect for Tiverton, who were again watched by Billericay in a 1-0 home League win on Wednesday night.

On their way through the non-league pyramid the West Country outfit twice won the FA Carlsberg Vase - a trophy collected three times by Billericay in the 1970s - but Calder believes that his side can win the day.

He admits that there are still some problems with the flu bug in the Billericay camp and that there are slight injury doubts about French international striker Amara Simba - two goal hero of the previous round success over Grantham - and Kevin Jordan.
