There was double delight for the Savill twins at the Chelmsford U/13 tournament.
Stephen beat the No.1 seed and Essex Restricted champion, Andrew Brunning, in a thrilling final by 17-16 while brother Daniel and Niall Barber won the doubles 21-18 over No 2 seeds Jamie Patching and James Taylor.
This was an extraordinary game because Savill and Barber had trailed 4-17.
In the last four, the eventual champions had defeated Thurrock's Stephen Savill and Ben Carter 15-11.
As for Thurrock's girls, Leah McGregor and Keely Chapman both lost in the singles semi-finals but went one better in the doubles but came off second best against Helen Wiley and Vanesha Balakhumar by 15-5.
