Colchester boss Steve Whitton is still seeing red today following the sending off of club captain Simon Clark and young midfielder Gary Redmond.
The dismissals happened during the first half of yesterday's 2-1 reserve team defeat at home to Gillingham.
Clark was red-carded for alleged foul and abusive language early in the match his first since limping off in the first team clash with Bournemouth six games ago.
Redmond followed just before half-time for an alleged dangerous tackle.
Whitton said: "I have to be very careful what I say, but common sense did not prevail out there on the pitch.
"And I have a feeling that I could be getting reported by the referee too for making my feelings known to him during the half-time interval.
"I can't comment more until we've seen the official reports from the referee."
Clark now faces a two-match ban, but whether that applies to first team matches has yet to be determined.
