East Thurrock United have never known such times.

Not only does the first team sit five points clear at the top, but the reserves too lead their competition.

Tomorrow in Ryman Two, Rocks take an unbeaten run of 11 games to mid-table Barton whom they drew with earlier in the season at Rookery Hill.

"We've improved since then and I think we've suprised a lot of teams in our division by going to the top," said manager Lee Patterson.

"The players now have the best incentive possible for every game because each time they win they'll still be on top."

Dean Allen is the latest addition to the side and the striker, who is on loan from Grays, made a big impression in scoring on his debut during last weekend's victory at fellow title contenders Great Wakering.

Rocks will be without Paul Moran (hamstring) and Paul Pizzey (work).

Tilbury are expected to keep goalkeeper Mark Hardingham on the sidelines for the visit of Leatherhead.

The goalkeeper injured his neck in last Saturday's draw with Barton and will want to make sure he is fully fit for next weekend's FA Vase third round clash with Wroxham.

Rikki Burbridge undergoes a kidney operation today and is unlikely to play again this season.

To fill the promising striker's place Tilbury were today hoping to agree a deal with Grays to take reserve Matt Harrold to St Chad's.

One-time East Thurrock favourite Tommy Lee was one of three new players Steve Mosely brought in last week and it had the desired effect with Aveley's 4-1 defeat of Ware.

A visit by the second-placed Ryman Three side to Epsom & Ewell though will test whether Millers can maintain the pressure on leaders Croydon Athletic.
