The Hadleigh Carport Southend Borough Combination will have a representative in the area final of both the Essex Junior Cup and Trophy.

In the Cup fifth round, Southend Collegians, thanks to goals from Thorn and Dawson, won 2-1 at Hullbridge Sports 2nd and will now meet Bukta Southend District League Sparkbridge, 6-0 winners over Sibar Sports 2nd.

Essex Intermediate League Runwell Hospital will provide the opposition for Combination Weir Sports after a 3-0 win over Hannakins Farm 2nd. Weir beat District League Rochford Town 2nd 5-4 after extra-time with Holloway and Buhagiar both grabbing braces.

On a chilly day, Frost struck twice for top dogs White Ensign in their Premier Division 4-1 success at Shoebury OB. Shoebury Town had a Scaife hat-trick to thank for their 7-1 thrashing of Catholic United, while Tubbs got all three for Old Southendian, who drew 3-3 with Southchurch Hall OS.T Wright grabbed a double for Southchurch.

Jones was another trio star, his haul coming for Wakering in a 4-0 Division One success over Kings Field Casuals. T Sexton got two as Shoebury Town 2nd won 5-0 at their Leigh Ramblers counterparts.

Biggest winners of the day were Thorpe Athletic 2nd. They cashed in at Royal Bank of Scotland to the tune of 15-1 in Division Two with Parker nosing in with seven. Not far behind was S Munday, who notched five for Southchurch Hall 2nd in an 8-2 success against their Old Southendian counterparts.

Pirie and Cumming both netted twice for Wakering 2nd, 6-4 winners at Corinthians in Division Four. There were plenty of top scoring feats in the lower divisions.

Benning got five as International PMS beat Little Theatre Club 2nd 10-3 in Division Five. And there were hat-tricks from A. Watson, Talbot and Merenda as Nubarn Athletic thrashed Ekco Thames Park 4th 14-0 in Division Six. It was a case of sweet dreams for Flightspares after Sleap scored five in a 6-4 victory over Customs 2nd.
