An elderly woman has been killed after attempting to cross the road in Basildon.
The woman, who is yet to be identified, was crossing Rectory Road near to the junction with Howard Crescent on Friday at around 5.15pm.
While crossing she was involved in a collision with a white Ford Escort travelling in the direction of Burnt Mills.
