Anglia Polytechnic University is starting to teach a new style of degree meeting the needs of students and the interests of employers.
Foundation Degrees are a new type of qualification focusing on the skills needed by employers and is on offer at APU and their six regional partner colleges.
Teaching is much more flexible, with distance learning and tutoring done in the workplace, The first, in Logistics and Transport has already started, but APU are recruiting applicants for the next intake in the New Year.
Businesses have already taken an interest to support employees on the course.
Sara Eddy, Training Officer at the Ford Motor Company, said: "The foundation degree in Logistics and Transport offers an excellent opportunity to employees who wish to engage in personal development, either by gaining further qualifications or by getting back into study.
"We are able to offer this qualification opportunity to interested Ford employees working in a logistics and transport job role.
"The flexible nature of study allows our employees to study for their degree, without having to take leave from their careers."
