Ipswich are still waiting for their second win of the season despite taking the lead away to Aston Villa in the Premiership last night.

Two goals from Villa's Juan Pablo Angel ensured there was little festive cheer for the travelling Town fans.

Finidi George struck first for Town in the 17th minute as George Burley's men tried to inspire a move from the foot of the table.

But Villa's Angel equalised for Villa just before half-time and then scored the winner with 20 minutes remaining.

Despite the result Town boss George Burley said he was upbeat having seen a battling performance from his players.

The result leaves Town still four points adrift at the bottom.
