A quarter of a century of loyal service repairing military equipment by Mersea man Edward Turner has been rewarded with the Imperial Service Medal.

Ted, 63, joined the 36 Command Workshop REME, which has since become ABRO, based in Flagstaff Road, as a vehicle fitter back in 1976 and was promoted to equipment examiner two years later.
Ted retired earlier this year, giving him more time to enjoy his hobby of fishing.
