It was a case of what might have been for Halstead as they slipped out of the Millennium Trophy.

"We had plenty of chances," said manager Paul Grimsey, whose depleted side battled tirelessly throughout.

"But it just wasn't to be. We could have had a few goals, but we hit the woodwork twice, and luck wasn't on our side."

Mildenhall took the lead just before the break and then survived a second-half battering to book their place in the next round.
