Essex Chambers of Commerce's trainee of the year awards have been hailed as a triumph by bankers HSBC.
The ceremony at the Civic Centre, in Southend, at which a select band of 37 of the county's top trainees both young and old received awards or certificates of merit, was described by Richard Holdroyd, training guru at sponsors HSBC, as "excellent".
He explained: "What was particularly impressive was the personal stories, which were unique for every person. Every one of the winners was tremendously mature and confident and should be very proud of what they have achieved."
More than 200 trainees from all over Essex were nominated by their employers and tutors for this year's event, in categories ranging from customer service and hairdressing through to automotive engineering.
