Plans to demolish farm buildings at Highfields Farm, East Hanningfield, and build "affordable" homes with new access roads on a 2.5 hectare site were approved by Chelmsford Council's planning committee on Monday.
The application, from the Essex Villages Housing Association, suggested that the proposed houses would be built in three terraces, councillors were told in a report.
The parish council supported the application subject to a number of conditions.
