Although Lee Patterson's East Thurrock are topping the Ryman League Second Division, mid-table Essex rivals Tilbury continue to hold the Indian sign over them.
The Dockers more or less settled this affair at St Chad's with two goals in the opening 20 minutes.
The first saw visiting goalkeeper Jason White and central defender Wes Faulkner guilty of ball-watching to allow Jean-Marie Okita to nip in and set Rikki Burbridge up for his tenth goal of the season.
It could well be the striker's last for a little while as he's due in hospital on January 3rd for a long-awaited kidney operation.
After 20 minutes, Scott Mallon's 40-yard back pass saw White a little slow to react and the keeper crashed the ball against Okita, who shot home his 14th goal of the term into an empty net.
Although on loan Grays' striker Dean Allen and ex- Purfleet man Danny Curran went close for Rocks in the second-half, Tilbury were well worth a win that delighted boss Tony Cross.
